Europe’s space economy is entering a new phase, one shaped not only by breakthrough technologies, but by the companies capable of turning innovation into market impact. In this context, SpaceFounders stands out as one of the most relevant acceleration opportunities for ambitious spacetech ventures. Created through a partnership between the Italian and French space agencies and the Bundeswehr University Munich, the program is designed to connect promising founders with the public and private players shaping the future of the European space ecosystem.

More than a traditional accelerator, SpaceFounders is built as a gateway: a place where high-potential companies can strengthen credibility, expand strategic networks, and prepare for the next stage of growth. The value lies in the quality of the environment. Selected founders gain access to industry insiders, investors, expert mentors, and a peer group of equally ambitious companies, within a highly selective cohort of just 15 founders over a three-month journey. Alumni results already speak for the program’s impact: companies that completed it have collectively raised more than €472 million, and the initiative has accelerated 70 startups from 17 countries across Europe.

The current open call is aimed at companies that are already showing real momentum and are ready to scale. SpaceFounders is looking for ventures operating across the full spacetech value chain, from upstream to downstream, with any credible link to space. Eligible applicants should have a marketable product, early commercial traction such as first customers or pilot projects, and a technology maturity of at least TRL 4, meaning the solution has already been validated in lab or in a relevant environment. The program is particularly suited to startups between Seed and Series A, or equivalent bootstrapped companies, now preparing for their next fundraising round. To apply, the company must be headquartered in an EU member state, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. Non-EU citizens may still apply, provided the business is headquartered in Europe and its technology or IP rights are also based there.

What makes the program especially attractive is its combination of depth and practicality. Participants benefit from three in-person bootcamp weeks hosted in Germany, France, and Italy, combined with virtual workshops, mentoring sessions, and networking moments throughout the program.

Importantly, joining the accelerator does not require giving up equity. To apply, companies need to complete a short application form and upload a pitch deck, making the first step accessible, while ensuring the selection remains rigorous.

The deadline for the open call is March 10, 2026. Promising candidates will then receive feedback by April 14, followed by short virtual founder interviews between April 27 and 30. The most promising 20 startups will pitch at a live virtual pitch event on May 21, with final selection following shortly after. According to the scouting deck, the new batch will be officially revealed on June 10, 2026, with the program running from September to December 2026. For companies building the next generation of mission-critical space solutions, this is not simply another call for applications. It is a concrete opportunity to enter the right rooms, meet the right partners, and accelerate with purpose.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of new cohort and apply now!
